Haditha Marine Commander Exonerated, Time to Charge Murtha!

Chessani Case - Chessani Head Shot - Final

Marine Lt. Col Jeffrey Chessani

Haditha Marines Exonerated

First, keep in mind, we have victory in Iraq, thanks to the U.S. Marines, freedom loving Iraqis, and real American Patriots like George W. Bush and Dick Cheney.   Also, keep in mind, ALL HADITHA MARINES have been EXONERATED.

Please read the following breaking news and statement by defense counsel, and think about all those Haditha Marines who were convicted by Jack Murtha and the Media, imprisoned and insulted, only to be exonerated, to the last man, and then think about how you would feel volunteering to serve your country, risking your life, and then being treated like a common criminal by your own people.

ANN ARBOR, MI   Late this morning, the Navy-Marine Corps Court of Criminal Appeals sitting in Washington DC, released their unanimous decision upholding the dismissal of charges against Marine Lt. Col Jeffrey Chessani on the grounds of apparent Unlawful Command Influence (with reference to the Haditha incident).  But the case may not be over yet. This decision could be appealed to the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces (CAAF) and then even to the U.S. Supreme Court.  The government has yet to announce whether it will pursue another appeal.

LtCol Chessani is the highest ranking officer facing criminal charges as a result of the much-publicized and ill-described “Haditha massacre.”  The criminal charges against him stem from a legitimate combat action taken by four enlisted Marines in his command after they were ambushed by insurgents in Haditha, Iraq, on November 19, 2005.  Their actions resulted in the deaths of several ambushing insurgents.  Unfortunately and tragically, several civilians were also killed in the house-clearing operation.
Even though LtCol Chessani wasn’t present during the incident, he was criminally charged with failing to launch a full investigation into the incident.  If convicted, he faces 2 ½ years imprisonment, dismissal from the Corps, and loss of all of his retirement pay.

Statement of defense counsel:

Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel of the Thomas More Law Center, observed, “LtCol Chessani, one of the most effective combat commanders we had in Iraq, was a made political scapegoat by the civilians in the Pentagon to appease the antiwar politicians and a liberal media.  In fact, we now know that the story of the ‘massacre’ that prompted the Haditha prosecutions was a headline in a Time news article instigated by insurgent propaganda operatives.”

Continued Thompson, “This nation has come to the point where we can’t call terrorists captured on the battlefield ‘enemy combatants.’  We release the terrorists out of Guantanamo and prosecute the military our country placed in harms’ way to defend us.”

Michael Savage credited with making Haditha case difference

Rep. Jack Murtha of Pennsylvania said of the Haditha Marines they had committed “cold-blooded murder and war crimes.”  Here is Murtha, his statements, and a sampling of the news coverage at the time.  Listen to this horrendous individual slander our President, our troops and engage seditious propaganda to the benefit of our enemies.

Today, all Haditha Marines have been exonerated, and there is VICTORY IN IRAQ.  If anyone should be brought up on charges it’s Jack Murtha.

Speaking of Jack Murtha, Google Abscam* to learn more about this corrupt individual, and read this breaking news about his activities:

Advice From Murtha Allies Guided Funding Requests, Documents Show

A Pennsylvania defense research center regularly consulted with two “handlers” close to  Rep. John P. Murtha (D-Pa.) as it collected nearly $250 million in federal funding through the lawmaker, according to documents obtained by The Washington Post and sources familiar with the funding requests. The center then channeled a significant portion of the funding to companies that were among Murtha’s campaign supporters.

“The greatest good for the greatest number?” I take it that you have not thought through the implications of that philosophy. And, those of us who DO understand the implications (problems) with it also understand why you don’t — because you’re a mental commoner.

You could never imagine it, but there are actually a few people who are so incredibly intellectually superior than most, and ABSOLUTELY intellectually superior to the common, average, run of the mill carbon forms whose existence is a waste of space.

There are some people who watch all of you like you are in an ant farm — embarrassed for you because you are so primitive; believing in invisible gods, and the superiority of the United States.

Most of us are anonymous … most of the time. We understand that the sheer masses of sheep-mentality people are easily manipulated by emotion, and that there’s no point in trying to use reason or logic or facts with commoners; because they’re simply to stupid and too controlled. The only thing speaking out can do for us is open us up to abuse and oppression. So we sit back and watch — and sometimes comment anonymously.

There is no substantive difference between your nationalism and the nationalism of NAZI Germany.

Here’s a test that even you could comprehend. Ask yourself how the U.S. imperialism is different than British or NAZI imperialism — where cold-blooded murder is perfectly OK.

If your answer is anything similar to “well, we’re different, we’re the United States — we’re not like those other countries or those other people” then you are actually just like them.

  2. Allan Erickson says:

    Well Joe,

You certainly think highly of yourself, one of the superior race I see.

My first thought comes from 1 Corinthians 8:2, written by a man no doubt more intelligent and more learned than you and I put together—

“The man who thinks he knows something does not yet know as he ought to know.”

My favorite verse. It tends to put us in our place compared to the reality of infinite creative intelligence.

(You might consider checking your arrogance at the door. It really does not serve any useful purpose, and actually works against you. People tend to scoff and ridicule those who insist they are superior.)

You dismiss that very intelligence which created you, bringing to mind another statement by a brilliant individual, Herbert Spencer:

“There is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance—that princple is contempt prior to investigation.”

Since you have made an a prior decision that God is not, you’ll never enjoy the learning that comes from a mind opened and nourished by his spirit. You deny potential. You deny yourself the thrill of discovery and the exhilaration of travel in the unseen.

As far as America is concerned, we are little different from other peoples and nations save for the essential goodness and grace we once held sacred, the impulse to serve and reach out, fired by the influence of the God of love, a God now hounded by your kind, the group largely responsible for our collective decline, for ‘if you will not have God, you will have Hitler or Stalin,’ as the philosopher so aptly stated.

Americans have saved more lives than we’ve ever taken, those we’ve taken in war we regretted, however just the cause, the incidents of ‘murder’ tragically regrettable, nonetheless the exception, our purpose clear from the beginning: faith, love, hope and freedom for all.

No matter what people like you say, this remains the greatest experiment in republican democracy, offering the greatest good for the greatest number. All the evidence you need is seeing the masses of people through the centuries giving all they have to get here.

What you call my nationalism is patriotism, a patriotism that promotes the best in America without turning a blind eye to her failures, a patriotism rooted in a love of freedom, and a simple appreciation for all the many blessings of liberty given to me and my family by the blood sacrifice of so many heroes who went before me, and many who’ve come afterward, including my son and his friends, who served in Iraq with honor, a country now free from the thug and set on a course toward freedom and prosperity.

Otherwise, for you to compare America and Nazi Germany simply reveals your dark heart, demonstrating your claim to superior intelligence bankrupt.

I’ve noticed over the years people like you demand perfection in others, you demand America be perfect, and at the same time you give yourselves permission to wallow in imperfection and laud regimes that celebrate imperfection.

I’m confident you’d be more comfortable in Caracas or Moscow or someplace in China, for about three weeks. Then you’d come running home with your tail between your legs.

I leave you with the words of the greatest teacher of all time. Perhaps they’ll benefit you, probably not. His greatness does not depend on your opinion, or mine, in any case. Surely a real scholar like you will read and ponder and cross-reference and ponder some more before drawing conclusions.

The disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?” He replied, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. This is why I speak to them in parables: “Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand. In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: “‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving. For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.’ But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. For I tell you the truth, many prophets and righteous men longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.

    Matt. 13: 10-17

A man can no more diminish God’s glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word, ‘darkness’ on the walls of his cell.
    C. S. Lewis

So, where are you Joe? Fresh out of ideas, insults, comebacks and ad hominem attacks? Or just intellectually bankrupt?
