He urges all callers to get his book at a discount and send it to the Home Secretary, sues her for defamation, demands an apology and asks that he be allowed to address Parliament to explain his views. The guy has balls.

In other words, because Savage called Napolitano on her DHS report targeting American conservatives as potential terrorists, and sued DHS as a result, did elements in the Obama administration make moves to encourage Smith to ban Savage from the UK, a political and PR hit if you will?

I don’t agree with Savage being banned.
However, Savage is no friend of free speech. Despite Savage painting himself as a champion of free speech, he is anything but. He took the organisation CAIR to court to prevent them from using snippets of his show on their website. He lost. However, had Savage prevailed, free speech would have lessened for us all. See:

If you truly believe Savage is opposed to free speech, you haven’t really listened to the man, or read his work.
Additionally, let’s remember our enemies (whether Muslim extremists or others) have always said they would use our freedoms against us. Ridiculing the defenders of freedom as being opposed to freedom of religion so as to carve a niche for that very religion (or worldview) in the aggressive act of subversion and demoralization is always a useful tactic, especially when people are so easily duped.

Michael Savage is banned from England! Using its same freedom-hating standards, Britain should now ban from its shores that “hate-fostering extremist” known as Jesus – and of course also ban the Queen since she is officially the “Defender of the Faith” that Jesus started!
