Government Pursuit of LtCol Chessani Continues

Marine ordered to face Board of Inquiry

Chessani Case - Chessani Head Shot - FinalANN ARBOR, MI – Nearly four years after the so-called “Haditha Massacre,” an investigation conducted by over 65 NCIS agents (Naval Criminal Investigative Service) ─ the largest investigation in that agency’s history ─ with the expenditure of millions of taxpayer dollars, and prosecution losses at every stage of the criminal process, the government has decided to give up on the criminal prosecution against Marine LtCol Jeffrey Chessani.  Nonetheless, the battle for this loyal Marine officer continues.

On Friday, August 28, 2009,   the new general in charge of LtCol Chessani’s case, Marine LtGen George Flynn, Commanding General of the Marine Corps Combat Development Command in Quantico, VA, decided that criminal charges were not warranted.  Instead, he ordered LtCol Chessani to face an administrative procedure called a “Board of Inquiry.”  [see order here]

[Insight from a retired Marine Corps. officer]

“Old men sitting in Washington without any real experience and understanding of the combat environment, ask young men to make spit second decisions that will either kill others or get themselves killed.  Historically, these young heroes have done a remarkable job, balancing mission, safety of their comrades and themselves, with the humane concern for non-combatants.  If our politicians (in and out of the military) continue to try to prosecute those who have to deal with these kinds of “life and death” incidents, they are going to soon find themselves without an all volunteer force.  The first and most devastating exodus will be the leaders who bear the brunt of broader responsibility.  If they don’t back up their troops, they won’t have their loyalty and commitment to carry out the mission.  If they don’t kowtow to the politicians (both in and out of the military,) they risk their careers.  It is not a system that would encourage a warrior mentality and career in the current armed services.  Thank God for people like Jeffrey Chessani, who not only understand what needs to be done, but have the courage to do it, in spite of the consequences.  I like the way the ancient Greeks fought – with the king in the front rank.  If we adopted Greek rules, I’ll bet we could quickly purge the political class of the effete, self-serving assholes now fighting each other for the spotlight and serially bungling the governing of our country.”

[Another USMC officer, retired, weighs in.]

“Our warrior ethos has been severely diminishing for decades, maybe centuries.  In our lifetimes we watched the progression of World War II and studied the soldiering of the Germans, Russians and Japanese; they were warriors.  Because of our overwhelming industrial might and production capacity we won the war with civilian draftees and patriotic volunteer kids led by World War One veterans.  We had more PXs than the Germans had tanks; more USO shows, more hospitals and unlimited supplies.

The Chinese and North Koreans were warriors.  We damn near were annihilated militarily but held on until the diplomats agreed with each other to stop the fighting.

I need not expound on Vietnam.

Because of such things as Project 100,000, attempting to diversify the services with racial “balance”, social engineering women, gays, contract civilians, etc. we have diluted our ability to fight and win.  Lawyers at nearly every level of command to advise upon, and sometimes approve, command action is totally ridiculous.

Chessani is a victim; any of us could have become victims many times, no doubt.  In reviewing my career, I know I could have.  So long as we have the current liberal mentality affecting the education of our young people, and a government that does not consider national defense the number one priority and uses the Armed Forces for purposes other than intended, this country will remain in danger so great that we may no longer be the land of the free and the home of the brave in just a few years.”

“America would accumulate more government debt under President Obama than under every President in American history from George Washington to George W. Bush combined.”

People are furious about this:

  • The White House brags that it will cut the deficit in half by 2013. The President does not mention that the deficit has nearly quadrupled this year. Merely cutting it in half from that bloated level would still leave budget deficits twice as high as under President Bush.
  • The public national debt–$5.8 trillion as of 2008–is projected to double by 2012 and nearly triple by 2019. Thus, America would accumulate more government debt under President Obama than under every President in American history from George Washington to George W. Bush combined.  (
  • The polls show increasing rage:

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 30% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-one percent (41%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -11 (see trends).

Here are the some of the people responsible for enslaving our children and grandchildren under a mountain of endless debt:

       Pelosi               Reid            Wu             Wyden

A week before congress comes back, the latest Rasmussen report — released yesterday –found that 57% of American voters “would vote to replace the entire Congress and start all over again.”

    Barack Hussein Obama’s Muslim background

    August 30, 2009

The Fox is in the Hen House

    by Wahlid Shoebat  6.5.09

Obama proved what I have been saying for years, that American liberal mediocre minds are no match to fourteen centuries of Islamic deception. Obama knows well how to have Americans major on the minors (Water Boarding) while ignoring the majors — Iran’s nuclear buildup and the nuclear arms race in the Middle East. He has alienated the CIA, undermining their morale as well as their ability to defend America. The water boarding PR campaign was initiated not because it might be undermining American values as anybody with common sense who knows the facts is aware that water boarding was only used three times on terrorists who we knew had information we needed in order to save thousands of lives. Even the media and the American people did not buy the Presidents arguments, so Nancy Pelosi became Obama’s sacrificial lamb and was set up to take the bait and she conveniently took the fall while Obama the fox got off the hook.

His spiritual actions are also striking as he ignores the tradition of all previous Presidents by not attending the National Day of Prayer breakfast. He specifically requests a picture of Jesus on the cross be removed from the wall that would be behind him when speaking at an event in Georgetown University.

The President found time to condemn the murder of the abortionist doctor but not a word on the murder by an Islamist who opened fire and killed a soldier in Arkansas. Both murders happened within hours of each other. ‘America in not a Christian nation’ says Obama, but ‘the largest Muslim country.’ We are actually number 38 on the list.

Anyone who dared to expose prior to his inauguration was instantly labeled a nut case or racist bigot, but outlined above are the policies, words and the actions of a President that could be argued is an accurate description of a President doing as much as he can to do the bidding for the Islamist agenda. We will see the future with more of Obama’s lunatic policies when it comes to our defense but when his stardom wanes, enough Americans will finally get it and the danger this man poses to the safety of this nation and the free world will limit him to one term and maybe in 2010 if the Republicans can get their act together retake control the House of Representative to blunt some of this insanity.

USA Appeases Islam under President Obama

    by Lee Jay Walker

In the world of Obama he states that the rituals of Ramadan “remind us of the principles that we hold in common, and Islam’s role in advancing justice, progress, tolerance and the dignity of all human beings.” Therefore, what “justice” and “tolerance” is Obama talking about?

In recent weeks we have seen the usual Islamic tolerance of non-Muslims by radical Sunni Islamists. This applies to burning Christians alive in Pakistan, beheading Christian converts from Islam in Somalia, killing innocent Shia Muslims in Iraq, killing Buddhists in Southern Thailand, beheading Christian pastors in Nigeria, persecuting Coptic Christians in Egypt, and so forth.

Instead of the world confronting this menace, we have so many Western leaders in appeasement mode and even moderate Muslims are overwhelmingly silent on the reality of Islam and any nation which is ruled by Islamic Sharia law. Given this, what “tolerance” and “dignity” of all human beings is based on the Koran and the Hadiths. Also, when did Islamic Sharia law believe in the “dignity” of all human beings and equality?

    Ex-Muslims speak out

    August 30, 2009

New site educates about Islam here echoes the voice of ex-Muslims who want to stop the spread of Islam, expose its violent nature, and help Muslims to understand it and leave it. We believe in the oneness of humanity and oppose Islam for inciting hatred against non Muslims. Muhammad instructed his follower to conquer the world by the sword and to rule it with terror. We are determined to not let that happen.

If you have ever wondered about Jihad, the Islamic concept (please read this, this, and this), which is responsible for almost all the terrorist attacks in the modern world, and wish to understand what motivates these terrorists, FFI is a great place to learn about the Islamic ideology which inspires violence against Non-Muslims. The articles and the discussions at FFI cut through the usual Muslims’ propaganda about Islam being the religion of peace and lays bare the truth about Islam.

Moyers blames BHO and Dems for healthcare reform failure

    August 30, 2009

“Everyone already knows the White House has made a deal with the drug industry — promising not to import cheaper drugs from Canada and Europe – promising not to use the government to negotiate for better prices — that deal has been cut.”

Bill Moyers, darling of the Left, says White House serving corporate interests

[Why is Obama failing?  Not because of Republicans.  Not thanks to racists or fear-mongers. Not due to vitriolic town hall people or TEA Parties.  No.  Moyers says Obama is failing because he and the Democrats are beholden to corporate interests and they are the obstacle to ‘progressive’ healthcare reform.     HA!   There is justice.]

MOYERS:  I don’t think the problem is the Republicans . . . .The problem is the Democratic Party.  This is a party that has told its progressives — who are the most outspoken champions of health care reform — to sit down and shut up.  That’s what Rahm Emanuel, the Chief of Staff at the White House, in effect told progressives who stood up as a unit in Congress and said: “no public insurance option, no health care reform.”

And I think the reason for that is — in the time since I was there, 40 years ago, the Democratic Party has become like the Republican Party, deeply influenced by corporate money.  I think Rahm Emanuel, who is a clever politician, understands that the money for Obama’s re-election will come from the health care industry, from the drug industry, from Wall Street.  And so he’s a corporate Democrat who is determined that there won’t be something in this legislation that will turn off these interests. . . .

Money in politics — you’ve had in the last 30 years, money has flooded politics . .. the Supreme Court saying “money is free speech.”  It goes back to the efforts in the 19th Century to give corporations the right of personhood — so if you as a citizen have the right to donate to campaigns, then so do corporations.  Money has flowed in such a flood into both parties that the Democratic Party gets a lot of its support from the very interests that — when the Republicans are in power — financially support the Republicans.

You really have essentially — except for the progressives on the left of the Democratic Party – you really have two corporate parties who in their own way and their own time are serving the interests of basically a narrow set of economic interests in the country — who, as Glenn Greenwald, who is a great analyst and journalist, wrote just this week:  these narrow interests seem to win, determine the outcomes, no matter how many Democrats are elected, no matter who has their hands on the levers of powers, these narrow interests determine the outcomes in Washington, even when they have to run roughshod over the interests of ordinary Americans.  I’m sad to say that has happened to the Democratic Party.

I’d rather see Barack Obama go down fighting for vigorous strong principled public insurance, than to lose with a [corporate-dominated] bill . . . . the insurers are winning. Everyone already knows the White House has made a deal with the drug industry — promising not to import cheaper drugs from Canada and Europe – promising not to use the government to negotiate for better prices — that deal has been cut . . .

There’s this fear that Barack Obama will become the Grover Cleveland of this era – Grover Cleveland was a good man, but he became a conservative Democratic President because he didn’t fight the powerful interests – people say Obama should be FDR – I’d much rather see him be Theodore Roosevelt –– Teddy Roosevelt loved to fight – … I think if Obama fought instead of really finessed it so much . . . I think it would change the atmosphere.

[All this time and Bill Moyers still doesn’t understand conservatism or Americanism.  At least he is honest enough to name the crooks yet curiously continues worshipping the cult.  It is also hilarious to see this pundit and others completely miss the genuine ground swell opposition to ObamaCare across the nation, the spontaneous and disorganized outcry from all kinds of people who know a gov’t con when they see one.  Moyers and others either miss the real grassroots backlash or purposefully dismiss it because it contradicts their narrative, and that, quite frankly, is the essence of group think.  ‘Common folk couldn’t possibly oppose the benevolence of such a wonderful president!  Don’t they know we are the good guys, we know best, we have their best interests at heart?  Don’t they appreciate how much we CARE?’]

    Why Obamacare is failing

    by Michael Gerson, Washington Post

In fact, Obama has a reality problem on health care, and it has begun to threaten his standing as a leader. He staked the success of his early presidency — perhaps of his entire presidency — on a health reform plan both vague and divisive, which manages to anger deficit hawks as well as liberals who believe that compromise has already gone too far. Obamacare has been the political version of the neutron bomb, vaporizing supporters while leaving every structural obstacle in place.

The political damage is already considerable. Obama has seen one of the largest drops in approval for a new president in modern times. Confidence among political independents that Obama has the ability to make the right decisions has fallen by 20 percentage points since his inauguration.

    Why ‘ObamaCare’ is failing

The Obama administration has been astoundingly incompetent

    by Jonah Goldberg

Lashing out at the town-hall protesters, playing the race card, whining about angry white men, and whispering ominously about right-wing militias is almost always a sign of liberalism’s weakness — a failure of the imagination.

It’s funny how these supposed champions of the Enlightenment can’t grasp that people can disagree with them for honest reasons. Instead, we simply must be Limbaugh’s automatons, which is to say racist, fascist thugs.

In addition to the slander, such complaints are monumentally, incandescently lame coming from a party that controls Washington. According to liberals themselves, these evil-mongers are a tiny minority, a bunch of “Astroturf” frauds. So why not ignore them and get on with the work you were elected to do?

    Well, because they can’t — or won’t.

Maximum Resistance: George E. “Bud” Day

    August 30, 2009

    In Prison, North Vietnam, 1967-1973

Col. Day in dress uniform, age 84, Medal of Honor recipient, prison of war survivor.

    More photos and story here.

More history and detail of horrendous torture here.

After I returned in 1973. I published 2 books that dealt a lot with “real torture” in Hanoi. Our make believe president is branding our country as a bunch of torturers when he has no idea hat torture is. as for me — put thru a mock execution because I would not respond…pistol whipped on the head…same event. Couple of days later…hung by my feet all day.
I escaped and got recaptured a couple of weeks later…I got shot and recaptured. Shot was OK…what happened after was not.

They marched me to Vinh … put me in the rope trick, trick..almost pulled my arms out of the sockets … beat me on the head with a little wooden rod until my eyes were swelled shut, and my unshot, unbroken hand a pulp.

Next day hung me by the arms…rebroke my right wrist…wiped out the nerves in my arms that control the hands..rolled my fingers up into a ball. Only left the slightest movement of my L forefinger. So I started answering with some incredible lies.

Sent me to Hanoi strapped to a barrel of gas in the back of a truck.

Hanoi … on my knees … rope trick again. Beaten by a big fool.

Into leg irons on a bed in Heartbreak Hotel.

    Much kneeling–hands up at Zoo.

Really bad beating for refusing to condemn Lyndon Johnson.

Several more kneeling events. I could see my knee bone thru kneeling holes.

There was an escape from the annex to the Zoo. I was the Senior Officer of a large building … because of escape they started a mass torture of all commanders.

I think it was July 7, 1969 they started beating me with a car fan belt. In first 2 days I took over 300 strokes..then stopped counting because I never thought I would live thru it.

They continued day-nite torture to get me to confess to a non-existent part in the escape. This went on for at least 3 days. On my knees … fan belting … cut open my scrotum with fan belt stroke … opened up both knee holes again. My fanny looked like hamburger … I could not lie on my back. They tortured me into admitting that I was in on the escape … and that my 2
room-mates knew about it. The next day I denied the lie.

They commenced torturing me again with 3- 6- or 9 strokes of the fan belt every day from about July 11 or 14 October 1969. I continued to refuse to lie about my roommates again.
Now, the point of this is that our make-believe president has declared to the world that we (U.S.) are a bunch of torturers. Thus it will be OK to torture us next time when they catch us….because that is what the U.S. does. Our make-believe president is a know nothing fool who thinks that pouring a little water on some one’s face, or hanging a pair of womens pants over an Arabs head is TORTURE. He is a meathead.

I just talked to MOH holder Leo Thorsness who was also in my sq in jail … as was john McCain …and we agree that McCain does not speak for the POW group when he claims that Al Gharib was torture … or that “water boarding” is torture.

Our president and those fools around him who keep bad mouthing our great country are a disgrace to the United States. Please pass this info on to Sean Hannity. He is free to use it to point out the stupidity of the claims that water boarding … which has no after effect … is torture. If it got the Arab to cough up the story about how he planned the attack on the twin towers in NYC…hurrah for the guy who poured the water.
