Why is ObamaCare a fraud?

.

And why is it failing?

ObamaCare is a fraud because Obama is a fraud, and Bill Moyers says so.  He let the cat out of the bag Aug. 28 on the Bill Maher program.   Now this is one of the most hilarious video clips ever.  Bill Maher, who fancies himself informed, intelligent, and witty, introduces Moyers as “the conscience of American journalism.”   Remember, Maher is the clown who referred to Sarah Palin as a MILF, the bozo who told Wolf Blitzer on live television that the entire HBO/CNN cabal was “working together to get The Brother elected.”  (Wolf almost howled.) So here you have smarmy Bill Maher telling his audience Moyers is the greatest journalist ever, and immediately, Moyers goes into this bit about how the Democrats and Rahm Emanuel and Obama are essentially corrupt tools of corporate interests!  It is to die!  Maher turns whiter than white and immediately starts a long dissertation about evil Republicans, blowing smoke all over the place, but to no avail.  Cat is out ‘o the bag!

MOYERS:  I don’t think the problem is the Republicans . . . .The problem is the Democratic Party.  This is a party that has told its progressives — who are the most outspoken champions of health care reform — to sit down and shut up.  That’s what Rahm Emanuel, the Chief of Staff at the White House, in effect told progressives who stood up as a unit in Congress and said: “no public insurance option, no health care reform.”

And I think the reason for that is — in the time since I was there, 40 years ago, the Democratic Party has become like the Republican Party, deeply influenced by corporate money.  I think Rahm Emanuel, who is a clever politician, understands that the money for Obama’s re-election will come from the health care industry, from the drug industry, from Wall Street.  And so he’s a corporate Democrat who is determined that there won’t be something in this legislation that will turn off these interests.

Everyone already knows the White House has made a deal with the drug industry — promising not to import cheaper drugs from Canada and Europe – promising not to use the government to negotiate for better prices — that deal has been cut.

AND LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!

OBAMACARE IS a failure because people generally like our healthcare system, they generally like their insurance coverage, AND they oppose government-run healthcare.  No one is excluded.  It is against the law, in case you didn’t know.  People want choice, they want freedom, and they don’t want a bureaucrat micromanaging their doctor.

POLLING RESULTS, excerpts:

Polling last week showed that 47% of voters favor the health care reform plan working its way through Congress while 49% are opposed. However, those who oppose it show more intensity: Just 25% Strongly Favor the legislation while 41% are Strongly Opposed.

The new polling also shows that 80% of those with insurance rate their own coverage as good or excellent. That’s up from 70% in May.

And according to a brand-new NBC News poll, 47% of Americans — a plurality — oppose the public plan, versus 43% who support it. That’s a shift from last month’s NBC/WSJ poll, when 46% said they backed it and 44% were opposed.

  1. John says:

    Correlation does not imply causation.

Yes, the democrats are heavily influenced by corporate money. Yes, the republicans are too. Where you make the mistake is simply that people DO want a PROPER public option. Single payer – Pay for it through current medicare funds and slightly higher taxes on a slope with a higher percentage for richer people. Copy+Paste how Canada’s or France’s system is implemented and work to improve it over the years.

    Bang. Problem solved. Next?

  2. I’m afraid you miss the point John. The President has people believing he really wants a public option, but Moyers reports the administration is making backroom deals with industry to avoid the public option. Why? Politics as usual: campaign money for re-election. Same old problem: selfish politicians saying one thing, doing another, and stealing from the people. Furthermore, if you are comfortable with these criminals running your healthcare system, you’ll also be glad to have Dillinger doing your banking. Additionally, the rich already pay a disproportionate share in taxes. I thought you guys were the party of “fair.” And finally, no amount of taxing the rich will pay for a $1.6 trillion boondoggle, and if you think Medicare is a good model, you haven’t seen the projected bankruptcy there given unfunded liabilities out 50 years, nor are you taking into consideration the corruption and fraud amounting to billions upon billions lost yearly. Bang. Keep dreaming. Next?
