“Our history. . . slavery, violence, oppression.”

Barack Obama

Do you think we are in a culture war now, that certain people are encouraging class warfare?  This is only the beginning.   Obama’s friends have special plans for our country.  The question is: does he agree with them?

“There is going to be the largest blood bath in America,” unless the masses understand.

This is the warning given by one of Barack Obama’s chief political supporters, Kalid Al-Mansour from Texas, the man Percy Sutton says helped Obama attend Harvard Law School.   Kalid Al-Mansour is a Muslim supremacist and black separatist.  You will not believe your ears.  Jews are frauds. Christians are responsible for discrimination. **  Blood will run in the streets.  Hyperbole?  You decide, but consider carefully the following.  Percy Sutton speaks:

  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIVO8MZYXo8

Al Mansour’s sermon follows where he says:  “Cut off the nose, cut off the ears, take flesh out of their body…God wants you to do this.”

 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBnBnXPQwyM&feature=related

Clinton didn’t quite cooperate with Kalid did he?  Wonder why?  Where’s Hillary?

Obama’s Sugar Daddy

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XB3qVTsDBE8&feature=related

Remember the dual claim that Al-Mansour is a principal advisor to one of the world’s richest men:  Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talal of Saudi Arabia.  Can it be Obama’s record-setting financial war chest is filled in part with funds from this Prince?  An official with the Federal Election Commission has called for an investigation of the Obama campaign and the allegation foreign money is flowing to Obama, illegally.

If people watch these videos, and the ones following, and consider the accompanying evidence, and still make Barack Obama President, then this is no longer the America of Washington, Lincoln and Jefferson.

Obama says he was only a casual friend of Bill Ayers, that “he lived in the neighborhood.”

Here, Obama says on camera he was appoint to Chair Ayers’ Chicago Annenberg Challenge to give out $50m to “reform” schools in Chicago, a job Obama held from 1995-99.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-45A6I-N5I

In fact Obama was associated with Ayers in multiple ways for many years, they worked together, and supported one another. Obama was CEO of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, an educational reform organization Ayers used to radicalize public education. *  Obama was the CEO for four years, 1995-1999, and Ayers served on the board the entire time, not to mention their intimate association at the Woods Foundation.  The Woods Foundation funded ACORN, and Obama served as a trainer and attorney for ACORN.(2)

http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/funderprofile.asp?fndid=5340&category=79

The simple fact Obama is lying about his association to Ayers disqualifies him for any public office, not to mention the issues raised concerning judgment, character and trustworthiness surrounding this controversy, not to mention his history of radical partnerships, strong affiliations Obama is now working desperately to hide.

More compelling is the fact Obama thinks our country is fatally ill, and morally depraved—racist, sexist, homophobic, exploitive, oppressive and jingoistic.  This is what Bill Ayers has believed for 40 years.  This is what Jeremiah Wright believes.  It is what Father Pfleger believes.  And these are the beliefs of Obama political partners Louis Farrakhan, Frank Marshall Davis, Bernadette Dorn, Michelle Obama, Tony Rezko, Rashid Khalidi (1) and Khalid Al-Mansour**, the man suspected of providing the money for Obama’s Harvard Law School education.

Here, Percy Sutton, Chicago power broker and one time attorney for Malcolm X, connects Obama to Kalid Al-Mansour, saying Al-Mansour approached him to help Obama go to law school

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8npeYfKI_ns  “God wants you to cut up white people. Whatever you do to them is ok with God.”  Kahlid Al-Monsour, Obama supporter, rapid Jew hater, like Farrakhan, like Jeremiah Wright.

This is the man we want representing us in the White House?  This is the kind of experience required to help us recover economically—a tax and spend social engineer?  This is the anti-military individual we will make Commander in Chief in a time of war?

Barack Obama and Bill Ayers are of the same mind, that is the issue.  They both believe America is racist, homophobic, sexist, exploitive and jingoistic, and they both believe the public education system should be used a “laboratory of revolutionary change.”

*Before you watch the following video, understand that the Annenberg Challenge is a foundation that gave Ayers $50 million dollars (and later matching funds amounting to $60M came in), and Ayers used this money to make public schools places where students learn “outrage,” a place where they take “action,” learning from teachers trained to “take back the classrooms and turn them into laboratories of revolutionary change.”

http://sigmundcarlandalfred.wordpress.com/2008/04/23/what-obama-neglected-to-mention-bill-ayers-is-now-teaching-your-children/*

Furthermore, Ayers and Obama say public education must be transformed because it is nothing more than a “reflection of capitalist hegemony.”  You see, capitalist, imperial America, dominates everything.  What do you do in the face of such oppression?  You overthrow it of course.  *

Ayers and his wife declared war on America forty years ago.  They used violence to try and overthrow our government, bombing federal buildings, attempting murder, and actually helping others kill law enforcement officers.  Failing a violent overthrow of our government, they ensconced themselves in education, and have been working from within for decades to achieve overthrow through activism.

Obama is their knight in shining armor.

Watch this video and marvel at the direct connection and long allied partnership between Obama, Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, Rezko and others working together to build a political machine which has become a juggernaut.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-45A6I-N5I

Considering Obama’s support, and the $500M he has raised, more than twice the amount of any other candidate, ever, and when you add the full support of the Democrat Party, Louis Farrakhan, the Nation of Islam, the American Communist Party, ACORN, Public Allies (Obama’s youth training organization), George Soros, MoveOn.org, Code Pink, and hundreds of other activist organizations, not to mention most of those in Education, Media, Journalism and Entertainment (Hollywood and the Music Industry), plus enormous support in Europe and millions of dollars coming in illegally from overseas, it is a miracle McCain is even in the running.

This is what the Obamas really think about America:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9TUqS-Vs0Qs&feature=related

>we have an enormous, tragic history

>we have lost our way

>we are racist

>we have a hole in our soul

>we are ignorant

>we hold to stereotypes

>we are no longer what we once were

>if you are smart, you’ll elect Barack Obama

>our “civic religion” is such, we could create a model for the world

>our history: slavery, violence, oppression and struggle

Obama Ayers educational philosophy

http://hughhewitt.townhall.com/blog/g/d4ab762c-a057-41b9-888d-a4c1b7c0f45f

The [Chicago Annenberg Challenge’s] (CAC) agenda flowed from Mr. Ayers’s educational philosophy, which called for infusing students and their parents with a radical political commitment, and which downplayed achievement tests in favor of activism. In the mid-1960s, Mr. Ayers taught at a radical alternative school, and served as a community organizer in Cleveland’s ghetto.

In works like “City Kids, City Teachers” and “Teaching the Personal and the Political,” Mr. Ayers wrote that teachers should be community organizers dedicated to provoking resistance to American racism and oppression. His preferred alternative? “I’m a radical, Leftist, small ‘c’ communist,” Mr. Ayers said in an interview in Ron Chepesiuk’s, “Sixties Radicals,” at about the same time Mr. Ayers was forming CAC….

Mr. Ayers’s defenders claim that he has redeemed himself with public-spirited education work. That claim is hard to swallow if you understand that he views his education work as an effort to stoke resistance to an oppressive American system… For Mr. Ayers, teaching and his 1960s radicalism are two sides of the same coin.

Mr. Ayers is the founder of the “small schools” movement (heavily funded by CAC), in which individual schools built around specific political themes push students to “confront issues of inequity, war, and violence.” He believes teacher education programs should serve as “sites of resistance” to an oppressive system. (His teacher-training programs were also CAC funded.) The point, says Mr. Ayers in his “Teaching Toward Freedom,” is to “teach against oppression,” against America’s history of evil and racism, thereby forcing social transformation.

Fannie May, Freddie Mac, AIG…….who has supported McCain for decades with campaign contributions is really what’s going on here. The press is getting to close for comfort for the McCain / Sarah Gump ticket!!! Hysteria always works doesn’t it you ruthless, unchristian rednecks of the most racist country in the World. I’m fed up with all of you. You are hateful, evil human beings and may God have mercy on your soul.

Take a good look at how stupid you all look on the Republican ticket, nothing but a bunch of jackass’s with blowhard mouth’s. Your dangerous, evil and nothing will help any one of you. NOthing. Idiots.

Take that filthy hannity and wash his mouth out. Was he born in a barn?

MCCAIN DOESN’T SUPPORT THE TROOPS. HE SUPPORTS WWIII. HE WANTS DEATH AND DESTRUCTION, HE CARES LITTLE ABOUT OTHER VETS. THERE IS ONLY ONE HERO IN HIS LITTLE PEA-BRAIN.

  4. whitehawk says:

Listen, who really cares about Ayres???? He’s better off than any of you above. In the 60’s it was horrible for youth. They were being drafted, jailed if they didn’t go, federal officers acting like Gestapo leaders. A true dictatorship. Many paved the way for you all. Don’t ever forget it. Those who willingly went to Vietnam like McCain, killed, killed and killed until his fate was sealed. You have no idea.

  5. Allan Erickson says:

    Dear whitehawk:

If you would take time to read the material and watch the videos you might have a change of mind and heart. Don’t hate anybody. Just trying to get to the truth, and the truth seems to be, Mr. Obama has serious problems. McCain is nothing like you describe. Please try to formulate opinions according to some sense of logic applied to verifiable information. Your posts here are simply hysterical. God bless.

    Dear whitehawk:

I had friends die in Vietnam. I know many people who served there. If you want objective history about that war read “Hazardous Duty,” by Singlaub. But please try to calm down a little. Thanks to Ayers and 60s radicals like Tom Hayden, who I hosted in my home at one point, the Vietnamese and Cambodians were slaughtered after we pulled about, upwards of 2 million people. I fear you are seriously misinformed on a number of fronts.

everyone has serious skeletal formations in said closets….the problem with the republicans is McCain is angry, erratic and trigger happy and she, the over ambitious, under educated one is rapture ready. their nomination would be the end of the USA as we know it.

  10. Allan Erickson says:

    Janet,

I firmly believe Mr. Obama represents the idea we can pull ourselves up by our own bootstraps, human reason and will are sufficient for salvation, and government is the instrument of deliverance. History contradicts all these ideas. There is no utopia on earth. For me, tried and tested traditional values derived from the Judeo-Christian tradition – upheld and promoted by McCain/Palin – offer the best hope for the greatest good for the greatest number. I do not think McCain is erratic or a warmonger, nor do I think Palin is as you characterize. I do think Mr. Obama will move us is seriously destructive directions. I hope I’m wrong, but I think it’s clear he will continue along the lines of Fannie Mae, the use of government to penalize productive people and artificially assist lower income individuals and families. I do think he will cut defense, hurt our military in a time of war, diminish our intelligence gathering capability when we are faced with lethal enemies, and virtually ignore illegal immigration, with all the attendant problems that presents.

    God bless.

  11. Andy says:

Allan: In response to your request for a cogent argument, I refer to you the following, in the best spirit possible.

    Given your list here:

    >we have an enormous, tragic history – we do. Let’s face it – we slaughtered the native inhabitants of this land, in order to pave the way for a philosophy of controlling and dominating nature to our own ends, during and after which we imported slaves to build the fortunes of wealthy plantation owners. Our history as a democracy is the longest in the world and much of it is tragic.
    >we have lost our way – Imagine. The last 8 years, a war which we were led into by lies (there are, and were, no weapons of mass destruction and that’s what we were told). I don’t hold Clinton unaccountable either for his moral failings, as well as the failure to deal with al-queda before Bush took over.
    >we are racist – If you believe that racism doesn’t exist in this country then you’ve never been to where I live with someone who is not white. Very sorry, but like it or not much of our population is still racist.
    >we have a hole in our soul – Primarily caused by the materialism we’ve embraced over the last decades. Imagine, in the midst of a war our president tells us to go shopping. That’s a hole.
    >we are ignorant – What percentage of Americans have traveled to Europe, much less Africa or Asia? While we have great schools, in many aspects we are failing our children.
    >we hold to stereotypes – See “we are racist”.
    >we are no longer what we once were – At one time a president said to us “ask not what your country can do for you”. We killed him. Who would dare ask that now, as we go on believing we’re the most privileged people on the planet?
    >if you are smart, you’ll elect Barack Obama – A matter of opinion. Whether or not you’re smart has little to do with it. But given the above, it may be true.
    >our “civic religion” is such, we could create a model for the world – Have you seen what the folks at places like Saddleback are doing? In the name of religion, they are engaging in service to people around the world. Warren says “first in, last out”, and that’s what civil religion means.
    >our history: slavery, violence, oppression and struggle – Are you denying this?

Listen. Accepting these ideas does not mean that a person is denying the greatness of America. I believe in a future here, in the possibilities that intelligent, thoughtful people like you and me will provide for my children and my country. But we can’t deny these things, and doing so only poisons our society as we engage in denial on a colossal scale.

That’s why I support Barack. It won’t be perfect, but it is an end to the denial, and a start to the reconciliation of many of the things you mentioned above.

    God bless you, and America.

  12. totallyrad says:

You are one sick person! May you rot in hell!

  13. Allan Erickson says:

    Hey Andy,

First, thanks for you cordial reply.

Just for clarification: the list you reference came from the remarks of Barack and Michelle Obama, remarks I find troubling because they only focus on the down side, which I think comprises the lesser part of our story.

I agree of course, much of our history has been tragic. All of human history is punctuated with atrocity, primarily because we are fallen, godless, selfish, and vicious. The irony, God wants to love us, and help us love one another, but we are too busy being prideful and rebellious.

I would suggest to you MOST of our history has been fantastic, even heroic, considering all we’ve been through to establish and defend democracy, all the global interventions for good, and the enormous contributions American have made to advancements in every discipline, not to forget how we’ve outdone everyone through all time in the area of charitable contributions, volunteerism, foreign aid.

The charge we were deceived into war in Iraq is fundamentally wrong, and has never been buttressed by verifiable evidence. It may not have been the wisest move, and certainly was not managed well in the early going, but you have to admit the Iraqis appear happy with the results and the prospects for their future.

I have worked with Mexicans in the field.s My son is an officer with LAPD working with tough situations nightly. We are not racists. Nor do I believe our country is racist. If that were so, how is it Obama is on the verge of becoming president? You know, racism is everywhere, even in Europe and Africa, and we don’t have anything to do with that Andy. Asians hate other Asians. Shall we all fall on our swords because people are bigotted, and stupid?

We killled JFK? I thought it was a psycho communist trying to impress Castro.

“Civic religion” promoted by Obama is no substitute for the Declaration of Independence: ” and we are endowed by our Creator.”

Without our Creator, Stalin has free rein. History is clear. Tyrants only rule the roost when God is replaced by government in the hearts of the people.

    God Bless!

    Allan

  14. Allan Erickson says:

    Hi TotallyRad:

How sweet. Your mother teach you to speak to your elders that way? Sorry to inform you: you won’t get your wish. I’m heaven bound baby! “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” Christ has forgiven my sin. How about you. Need a cleansing?

    God bless.

    Allan

  15. Bruupo says:

My god, you fundies have no understanding of actual history.

Our founding fathers were deists, for a reason, and they kept religion out of our government for good reason. If they hadn’t, the same schizms and wars of religion that necessitated the founding of this country would have followed them here, and modern “Christians” wouldn’t have the luxury of that all inclusive moniker.

Hundreds of years before there was Stalin, or communism, Christianity was the excuse kings used to rule as tyrants. Divine right was the rationale for every European king, every war of religion, every atrocity and every genocide for hundreds of years- Christian against Christian, without even getting into wars of one religion against another.

For thousands of years history proved ONE thing, tyrants rule by INVOKING god, you deliberately deceptive twit.

  16. Paul says:

    Hi Allan,

You seem like a sincere person of faith who is very worried about his country and the world.

But Sir, how can you still believe that Iraq is a righteous war or that the Administration launched the war in good faith. The only explanation I can think of is that you feel the end justified the means. Obama will go after Al Quaeda in the mountains and valleys of Afghanistan and Pakistan, where they were on 9/11 and where our forces should have been all along–and would have been if GWB and the Neo-Cons hadn’t had a bee in their bonnets about Iraq. Quite apart from the tragic loss of life, the Iraq war has been an economic disaster for America; in my view the removal of Hussein wasn’t worth the money and death and destruction and the shift in regional power toward Iran.

The elements you bring attention to seem chosen to scare and alarm.
Farrakhan’s Nation of Islam is no lover of Obama, the American Communist Party sees Obama as a corporate dupe, Ayers is no longer a supporter of violence, radical though he may be. Many Americans are radicals. Obama is not radical. The materials you have chosen were made to sow alarm and taint a decent man, a man of faith, a father of two who rose from humble beginnings. He isn’t part of a sinister plot. He supports a few social-democratic ideas, so what? So does Rupert Murdoch who supports broadcasters giving free time to politicians to take some of the money out of politics.

Barak Obama is a trained student of the Constitution who supports the traditional separation of powers (unlike President Bush) and who will bring a moderate approach to governance. True, he will not follow the “all regulation of the economy is bad” approach, but ask most Americans today whether someone should be regulating the markets and they’ll say “well sure.” And he will not make school prayer the law of the land or allow the Ten Commandments to be displayed in Courthouses, because the Constitution decrees the separation of Church and State (no matter what the Federalist Society says). What he will do is try to get some health care for people who haven’t had it and better education for less well off Americans so they can have a shot at the dream. He will probably use the market because it will be easier to achieve change.

For nearly the last thirty years (maybe Clinton was morally lax and socially liberal, but he was conservative economically) the Chicago School has dominated American economic thought and look where we are now. Ron Paul has stated in response to the market crash that we need “less regulation, not more”, but intelligent guidelines for corporate accounting (some of the practices allowed on corporate balance sheets would curl your hair) and laws to regulate lending practices aren’t socialism or anti-business–they’re common sense. Only when investors can trust the system will the markets recover. And some laws mandating “clear language” in contracts wouldn’t hurt. In fact they’d weed out the unscrupulous and remove thousands of lawsuits from the courts.

Maybe you see the current state of the world as a battle between Good and Evil ( I don’t know, I admit I’m guessing, but this view is not uncommon). The trouble with that is that Islamic Extremists, Jewish Extremists, Hindu Extremists, Political Extremists, Moral Extremists–all these, share the view that they have the truth and must prevail or the world is doomed. Certainty is like blinders on a horse; it stops the eyes from seeing the whole picture.

I wish you the best, much of what you have held dear is collapsing in front of your eyes, but please don’t demonize or fear Barak Obama he is not the enemy you think he is.

  17. Allan Erickson says:

Hey Paul. Thanks so much for taking so much time to write. I only have a minute because even though I’m 55 with five kids, the youngest is 2, and it’s bed time. My oldest is 22 and he did two terms in Iraq with the Marines. Was wounded. Held men in his arms who were dying. From my point of view all our leaders were saying the same things throughout the 90s, running up to 9/11: Saddam was a threat, he was a growing danger, he was developing WMD even nukes, he was a ruthless dictator who had to be removed. Even the UN agreed. The authorization to use force, passed in Oct. 2002, was supported by virtually everyone. It was largely a call to rekinde the Gulf War because Saddam had violated the cease fire agreement numerous times. Sure the war was mismanaged early on. And there were other problems as we know. But I do not believe Bush lied to us intentionally. And if you will notice, Iran is now bookened. Plus, the largely undiscussed strategy here was to draw the buggers in, establish a line of fire, and kick the snot of ’em. Despite current assertions, Al Qaeda has been decimated.

Don’t ignore the deeper issue! McCain voting twice to PROTECT domestic terrorists who bombed Americans (in 1993 and ’94 he voted against anti-terrorism measures; he has ties with Ayers as well. Supporters of Ayers are BIG contributors of his…What is his connection with Obama-Ayers?? What about McCain’s long-ago association with a controversial group implicated in a secretive plot to supply arms to Nicaraguan militiain. How? Through John K. Singlaub and Oliver North who was the chief coordinator of the sale of weapons via intermediaries to Iran, with the profits being channeled to the Contras in Nicaragua. What? McCain associated with the sale of weapons to IRAN during the time that they held American hostages captive!?!?!?! And don’t get me started on the Palin stratagem. She has been CLOSLY associated , for many years with an ANTI-AMERICAN cult organization whose party leader, Joe Vogler, preached armed insurrection against the United States of America!!!! A cult leader who had PERSUADED the government of Iran (Islamic Terrorists) during a United Nations appearence, to sponsor his anti-American tirade (the McCain-Palin-Iran connection). His Anti American, Alaskan Independence Party, preached for ARMED insurrection against this country…OUR COUNTRY. He said “In the federal government, are the biggest liars in the United States, and I hate them with a passion.” WE are the federal government!!! He and his party HATES us!! Sarah’s DIRECT connection…every night she crawls into bed with a LONG time member of this dark and dangerous ANTI AMERICAN group…TODD. She even ENDORSED that treasonist organization this year and GAVE THEM GOD’S BLESSING during their convention. HOW DANGEROUS! HOW SCARY!! HOW UN-AMERICAN!!! There is a very sinister reason for McCains appointment of this unknown, unprepared person for the second highest office in our land…someone with such strong UN-American ties to head the country?…the common Iranian tie? What happened to indoctrinate McCain when he was a prisoner? Why does he so strongly NOT want to search for the still MIA’s in Viet Nam? Manturian Candidate anyone??? Watch him…Listen to what he says…research his past.,,DON’T BE FOOLED!!!

  21. Allan Erickson says:

Document, document, document. Everything I present about Obama is documented at least two ways, ususally three or four ways.

EX: Percy Sutton (Malcolm X attorney) says Al-Masour is intimately allied any number of people and has been working to raise money for Obama for years. Given his long association and close ties to Prince Bin Talal. Didn’t accuse Obama of taking Saudi money, but the likelihood is there, given the fact Obama didn’t have money for law school, and many have wondered how he afforded that world tour as well, not to mention Columbia. In any event, Al-Masour is a radical America hater, black separatist and Muslim extremist who advocates violence. Documented. He has worked directly to help Obama for many years, along with Jeremiah Wright, Farrakhan, Meeks, Pfleger, Ayers, Davis, Rezko, Dorhn, Kalidi—-all radicias who have promoted a hate America agenda, class warfare, racism and violence. If this doesn’t bother you, then ok, but it seems to me a reasonable person would connect the dots and discover enemies within, especially in view of Obama’s endorsements coming from Ahmadinejad, Hamas, Hezbollah, Castro, Chavez, King Jung Il and Qaddafi. Call me crazy but for all Mr. Obama’s moderate talk, if it looks like a radical America hater, walks like one and associates with ’em, safe bet he is one.

Your attempts to hang McCain as the Manchurian due to his imprisonment is nuts. He has worked hard to retrieve MIA’s, he is a patriot and a statesman, an honest man, not perfect, but certainly no nefarious lunatic with a checkered past. You would have been better off trying to hang him for the Keating Five affair, but he was totally exonerated.

No one should expect us simply to take your word. You have to present evidence if you want a credible place at the table.
    God Bless.

    Mr. Erickson,
You seem like an empassioned American who, like many of us is concerned about the current state of our country. I am sorry to hear of your son’s injury and thank him for his service to our country.

However, I would encourage you do a little more digging as you seek out the truth about Senator Obama, Senator McCain and Governor Palin. An excellent resource is the non-partisan http://www.factcheck.org, another helpful source is
    http://politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/776/
Researcher made assurtions that Gov. Palin and her husband have close ties with the AIP. There is evidence of that here http://www.salon.com/opinion/feature/2008/10/07/palins_unamerican/index.html
and a copy of her address here

I believe Paul made some excellent points above addressing some of your concerns. I would only add that it is by discussing history we can truly learn from it. I can appreciate your frustration in “dwelling” on the negative elements of our country’s past but we have to take the bad with the good if we are to grow as a nation. Isn’t part of being a good Christian righting the wrongs done to others and working towards social justice and peace?

Jesus taught us to walk amongst the sinners and reach out to our neighbors, even though they might be different from us. That is why I have taken the time to post a reply and I hope others, including yourself, are able to utilize temeperence in their future discourse. It is only by coming together at the table that we effect real change.

  23. Allan Erickson says:

    Dear Francesca:

Thanks for your kind and reasoned words. I agree, distortions in campaigning are unacceptable no matter where they come from. One is often left chosing where to place emphasis. I think the AIP thing is small change if not downright false. I agree we need to come to the table. Thanks for being here!

    God bless.

    Allan

If you want people to take you seriously you must avoid hysteria, wild accusations, and unsubstantiated charges. This post amounts to borderline insanity. Your only audience will be those likewise deranged. At least try to let factual material inform your opinions.

  28. brent says:

I think Allan is a bit too much of an apologist. The fact that this nation was established on genocide can not be written off as a tragic little aside. The fact that until the 1970’s people of color could not vote can not be an aside. The history of imperialism inthe late 1800’s-mid 1900’s can’t be just dismissed. The truth is without “radicals” we would have had no women’s liberation movement. There would be no suffrage. We would still be living with the fallacy of “separate but equal”. There would be no 8 hour day. The simple fact is that ENgland, Canada, Germany, France, Holland and the Nordic states now have a BETTER SOCIETY THAN US. The notion of American exceptionalism is intellectually bankrupt in light of recent history. Teh Vietnam example is also silly. “3 million vietnamese were slaughtered because we left” Um. more than 3 million Vietnamese, Cambodians and Laotians were killed BY US on a war based on a lie “RE: Gulf of Tonkin”. DO conservatives see apattern? USS Maine, Gulf OF TOnkin, WMD in IRaq? We just write t hese off? WHoops! Slavery and native genocide? WHoa, my bad. THe Gilded age of 11 year olds working 16 hour days, charged by the company for the candles they used to work at night? Yikes! SOrry. Today a report came out on infant mortality. Where do we rank? 29th. Singapore has us beat. WHOa sorry. AMericans die every day for a lack of quality health care. “Yeah but an alternative would be socialism”. The largest income gap since said Gilded age.”Progressive taxation stifles business” People who experiened WHITE ONLY RESTAURants and hospitals are still young. ”
WE’re over that now. ANcient history.. . 30 years.” In closing the man who invented the blood tranfusion was black. He was in a horrific car wreck. He needed a transfusion. He was refused care at two hospitals and died on his way to the “Colored” ER. If you are not willing to give these arguements the wieght they are do. If y ou insist on being an apologist for a nation that is not perfect, we have no hope for moving forward. Get used to ranking 29th in infant care, 30th in education, near the bottom in health care, near the bottom in wealth concentration. Because if all you ever do is apologize for the past you cannot take stock of the true present. Much less be expected to forge a brighter future.

    SIncerely,
    Brent

  31. bpdelia says:

COme on Allan. Read Howard Zinn’s book then. The truth is that regardless of your plans fo rhte future the history (and that was what these quotes or yours are about) the HISTORY of this nation is humbling to say the least.

  32. Allan Erickson says:

Yes, those rotten Republicans, always going around freeing slaves, passing the Civil Rights Act, taking on corporations and monopolies and establishing national parks (Lincoln, T. Roosevelt, Eisenhower). Oh, and that rat Republican, MLK. Enemies! LIke that other rat RR who put us back on track and drove the Soviets to their knees without firing a shot.

  33. Allan Erickson says:

This Howard Zinn? The guy who says WWII was not a fight we should have fought. The guy who denies the fallenness of people? The guy who pals with Democracy Now and Noam Chomsky? I see. Another anti-American “historian.”

  34. gofer says:

    Brent,

I urge you to check the facts about the bogus stats about healthcare. Infant mortality and other areas of healthcare are not what you stated. You need to go back and compare apples with apples. As far as infant death rates, many nations don’t count stillbirths as a mortality. Different methods of rating and judging skew the results. The U.S. has the finest healthcare system in the world. People from all over flock here for care. We have the most modern technology and more of it.

I am sick of anti-Americanism. People condemning this Nation for events of centuries ago as if other countries had no bad history or problems whatsoever. Africa is a place where human rights is trampled on. The U.S. has been the most generous and pass out more aid than all Nations combined. We send help when tragedies occur.

Quit trying to change history and this wierd guilt people have about things that are just that…..history.

Obama has no substance and that’s why people get so bent out of shape when he is questioned. There has never been a more UN-qualified person to be president, even ignoring all the crooks and terrorists surrounding his campaign. How many muslims has he let go because of terrorist ties? 3? 4? Now I know how men such as Stalin came to power….the people totally lost all reasoning and let their emotions rule over them. That’s the Obama movement…..Emotion and feelings.

Wait until the international crisis comes that Biden predicted because they are going to test him. What will it be? Will China make a move on Taiwan? Iran on Iraq or Israel? N. Korea on S. Korea??
